This double issue of Historical Records is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Thirteenth of July Uprising (July 13, 1941), one of the most important dates in the history of Montenegro, and according to historical science, the “phenomenon of European history”. On the occasion of the anniversary of the outbreak of the Thirteenth of July Uprising, the Scientific Council of the Historical Institute organized an international scientific conference on July 9, 2021: “1941. in Montenegro: Eighty years since the Thirteenth July Uprising. ”

A large number of scientists from Montenegro and other countries responded to the invitation of the organizers, as evidenced by the content of this thematic double issue of the journal Historical Records, in which the papers of 28 participants of the Conference were published.

In addition to bringing back to the forefront of scientific attention a major date from Montenegro’s past and improving the results of historiography, the Conference contributed to fostering a culture of remembrance of one of the major events in Montenegrin history in World War II. XX century.
